Getting Started

Welcome, In order to get started you should follow these steps:

 

1. Watch the Introduction Video - this will give you the visual reasons why you should start budgeting.

2. Get your Software, Software Training Manual and ihatebudgets Training Manual downloads.

3. Any success in budgeting requires discipline and planning.  After downloading the materials, there are two things you must do:

• Set a time aside to do your budget
• Set a most convenient way to record your transactions (dork book) and file your statements of records (A4 plastic folder with fridge magnet)

4. Install your software and get the “key” if you are going to use the software beyond the trial period. 

5. Listen to All the four software training modules. In particular the module on “Assets and Liabilities”. 

6. Complete the “Assets and Liabilities” section first. You will find it easier to set your goals because you will be looking at the big picture of your financial situation.  Remember to use the latest value of your super/bank balance/mortgage balance and update it frequently.

7. There are 14 ihatebudgets training modules including the psychology of money, relationships and money.  You can pick the ones that are of interest to you or follow the programme sequentially.  

8. Set some time to listen to the modules because it might help you set your budgeting routine.  eg if you are a spendaholic over the net, log onto the membership site and listen to the “spendaholic module” first.

9. Sign up for the ihatebudgets weekly newsletter for the latest tips and news.  ihatebudgets will be announcing a special deal for the kids pack in the near future.

Members Area - Subscribers to access the training videos (Click “Click here to access Members’ Area” to jump to the video area of your chosen module, click on play button to start watching).  Use the drop down menu to watch a different training module.
