The Psychology of Money - Why we hate budgeting

Look, let’s face it, budgeting is really boring! It’s the end benefit of when we take control of our finances rather than our finances controlling us that is the exciting thing. We are constantly told that budgets will restrict us and take the “fun” out of life. On the contrary, a properly constructed budget will give you the financial freedom that you so want and deserve. This module will discuss the “negative myths” that surround budgeting and give you an understanding of why we feel this way.

  1. At first people may think budgeting is boring but being able to afford the things in life we like with the help of an easy budget is anything but boring. The people I speak to who budget use words like ‘pleasing’, ‘contentment’, ‘happy’ and similar words because knowing they live within their means makes them feel safe.
